Together with the Xperia Z4 Tablet, Sony has unveiled its latest mid-range device, with a good camera and attractive price.

The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is a 5-inch smartphone with HD screen (1280 x 720 pixels). It carries a 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor running at 1.5 GHz, and 2 GB of RAM.

It will reach the market running Android 5.0 Lollipop. The new Sony Xperia M4 Aqua has a size of 145.5 x 72.6 x 7.3 mm and weighs 136 grams. It includes a 2400 mAh battery capable of operating the smartphone for 2 days. This is possible thanks to energy saving mode STAMINA, which extends the battery life without compromising the performance of the phone.

However, its main strength is the camera features. In the Xperia M4 Aqua, Sony has shown their best technology and they offer unique features for a device of this price range.

The rear camera has 13 MP, and it uses a Sony Exmor RS sensor with an F2.0 aperture and sensitivity ISO 3200. Thanks to the intelligent Super Auto Mode, the device is able to automatically detect 52 different scenarios, adjusting the light conditions to get the best possible pictures at any situation.

Sony has not forgotten the front camera, and has included a high-angle 5 MP sensor, with a field of view of 88 °, which is perfect to capture group pictures with ease.

Finally, the main camera applications and image retouching software typical from Sony are also included by default, so you can retouch and correct images to get the best results quickly and easily. Among others, Sony offers:

Movie Creator. Analyzes locations and faces on the images and groups them to share the files more easily and quickly.

AR Fun. It allows you to write and draw directly on what you are seeing through the viewfinder.

Portrait retouch. It can be used to add all kinds of effects to images and selfies. You can see the effect in real time before taking the picture.

Sound photo – add sounds to your photos. It’s used to capture a few seconds of audio to be saved with the image.

The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is built with metal and glass and has Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is waterproof and dustproof, with IP65 and IP68 certifications respectively.

It i scheduled to go on sale this spring in 80 countries, with a price around € 299. It will be available in white, black, coral and silver.
