Worms 3 comes to the Play Store!

After its exclusive release a few months ago in the App Store, Worms 3 ha finally reached the Google Play. Team17 launched this new release almost at the same time than Worms Clan Wars, a PC version. Only a few months ago, the Play Store offered a very good deal for Worms 2: Armageddon, when we could purchase it for less than a euro. Now, the fans of the series will enjoy a new title that promises to have all the fun of the classic versions.

Among the main novelties, we find a system of cards that changes the beginning and the end of each turn with some random actions that can give us some advantage. With these cards, we can get some extra fuel or increase the number of medical kits available. The cards are not intended to replace the classic strategy or to give a very radical change to style of play and its effect is far from decisive. The strategy remains the strongest point, and thanks to the cards we can get a slight advantage when we use them properly. However, we can play without them if we are not convinced and prefer playing traditional style.

Worms 3 also has six new weapons and recovers some classic ones, such as Old Lady and the Homing Pigeon. We may also choose the team of worms that we like, strategically joining heavy units, scientists, scouts and classics soldiers. Each one has different skills, and the combination we choose will determine our ultimate potential.

The game has 27 single player missions with four environments: beach, farm, spooky and sewers. However, if we prefer multiplayer mode, we can play asynchronous games with any adversary we choose, whether we know him or not.

You can choose to use touch controls or use the D-pad. Both are optimized to ensure that it will be easy to control the worms and point to the objectives. The hardest part will be, as on many other occasions, to know the exact effect of each weapon. We will be forced to use them following the tactic of trial and error, training with our entire arsenal to find the most effective type of weapon for each situation.

If we have played with earlier versions of this saga, we already know that all weapons have an indiscriminate effect, decimating enemies and friends alike. We must also be careful not to fall into the water, as the worms cannot swim and drown.

Worms 3 is available in the Play Store for $4.49 and includes small in-app purchases. However, we can play perfectly without requiring any extra payment, as these in-app purchases are targeted to buy items to customize our worms.
