How to root HTC Desire 301e
Directions
1. Firstly, unlock the bootloader of the phone following the instructions on the web http://www.htcdev.com/.
2. Download CWM Recovery from the “Download sources” section at the end of this article.
3. Shut down the phone.
4. Turn on the phone in Fastboot mode by simultaneously pressing the following buttons: Volume Down + Power, now a new menu will appear and you have to select the “Fastboot” option.
5. Connect the phone to the computer.
6. Download ADB from the “Download sources” section at the end of this article.
7. Unzip the file ADB you just downloaded to C:/android (for example).
8. Copy the file named “recovery.img” to the ADB unzipped folder. Open the “Command Prompt” on your computer and type the following commands:
- c :
- cd c :/ android
- fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
9. This will flash the CWM Recovery on your phone.
10. Shut down the phone.
11. Turn on the phone by pressing the volume down + power button at the same time.
12. On the menu that appears, select “Recovery”.
13. Download SuperSU and pass it to the phone’s SD card.
14. Enter into CWM Recovery and select “Install zip from SD card” > Choose zip from card > Yes.
