REVIEW Samsung Galaxy Ace 3

Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 is the mid-range smartphone of the South Korean company Samsung and successor of the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, which worked pretty well, especially because of its selling price much more affordable than the high-end smartphones and offering many similarities with them in the technology section.

Processor:

Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core 1 GHz (3G version) or 1.2 GHz (4G version).

Snapdragon is the platform for smartphones, tablet and smartbook devices created by mobile technology company Qualcomm. Both the 3G version of 1.0 GHz and 4G version (also called LTE) 1.2 GHz represent a wave amplitude not very high, while the dual core processor is reflected in the ability of processes that can perform in a given time. It means that it makes twice more processes than a single-core processor, this is called MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second). It’s a bit disappointing because it can be sometimes very slow on certain screens, and considering that the use of four cores is widespread and there are already eight-core processors.

Display:

HD TFT 4-inch 400 x 800 resolution with a density of 233ppi.

it’s a phone with an acceptable display, it matches its price and improves the display of the previous model. It has multitouch, accelerometer sensor for auto rotate, touch sensitive controls and Proximity sensor for auto turn-off. It’s all that is needed.

Storage:

4 GB (3G version) or 8 GB (4G version), expandable up to 64 GB with MicroSD slot.

Storage memory is what is called PC hard drive. In this case the 4/8 GB memory storage capacity to expand up to 64GB by adding a microSD card the phone are a good benchmark in this kind of smartphones with this price as they are within the average capacity.

RAM:

1 GB.

In RAM are loaded all the instructions that processor executes, so the more GB you have the better. In this case  Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 is rather limited for the user experience.

Camera:

It features 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 0.3 megapixel front camera VGA.

The camera of the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 is not particularly large, has a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, smile detection, video 720p @ 30fps and VGA front camera.

Connectivity:

3G or 4G by model, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP, built-in GPS, Glonass and place for an optional dual-SIM card.

These are all the types of connections it supports. 4G indicates that this mobile uses a system and a fourth-generation network, converging wired and wireless networks, including Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Connection speed is the highlight of this model.

In addition to these features, Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 has a 121.2 x 62.7 x 9.8 size in its 3G version and a 121.2 x 62.7 x 10 in its 4G version; it’s just light enough to weigh 115g (3G) and 119 (4G); it has a 1500mAh battery (3G) or a 1800mAh (4G), or what is the same, more 4G battery to maintain the same range in both, as the 4G tends to consume more; MP4/WMV/H.264/H.263 video player; MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC audio player; image/video editor; no FM radio (although you can use headphones) and features the Google OS Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Touchwiz Nature touchscreen interface.

In short, the highlight of the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 is that far surpasses its predecessor Galaxy Ace 2 and especially because of its affordable price, which makes it more palatable to people who neither can nor wants to buy a high end Smartphone. The LTE option and increased processor are also appreciated.
