Zenfone 2, the new high-end smartphone from ASUS

ASUS has introduced the Zenfone 2, a high-end smartphone which can rival with the devices from the main mobile companies.

The Zenfone 2 features a 5.5-inch IPS display with full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) covered with Gorilla Glass 3. It packs a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom processor (Z3560 / Z3580), operating at 1.8/2.3 GHz and 4 GB of RAM (although there will be a model with 2 GB of RAM). There are models with different internal memory capacities: 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB, respectively, expandable via microSD card. ASUS also offers 5 GB lifetime Web Storage with each device.

The rear camera has a 13 MP sensor with f/2.0 autofocus and dual-color Real Tone flash. The front one has 5 MP and wide angle lens(85 degrees). The ASUS PixelMaster cameras include additional features such as low light, Blacklight (HDR) mode and manual mode, among others.

Zenfone2-1-en

In terms of connectivity, the Zenfone 2 has 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack port, dual-SIM and micro USB (supporting OTG). The new ASUS phone includes all kinds of sensors like accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, gyroscope and digital compass.

It packs a 3000 mAh battery, with quick-charging mode, able to charge the battery up to 60% capacity in 49 minutes. The phone comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop, personalized with the new ASUS ZenUI layer.

Zenfone2-3-en

The Zenfone 2 has a dimension of 152.5 x 77.2 x 10.9 mm, achieving an impressive 3.9 mm at the edges. It weighs 170 grams and it has a brushed-metal finish. There are five colors available: Glacier Gray, Osmium Black, Glamour Red, Ceramic White, and Sheer Gold.

It is scheduled to go on sale in March, priced from $200.
