Officially launched Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Many improvements.
Finally, the day announced by Google for a breakfast with Sundar Pichai has arrived and now we’ve received the great news. We’ve new version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Yeah! This new version was very expected by all Android users in the past Google I/O but was not presented at that time. It’s possible that Google was ending some details of the new version and therefore it was not presented then. Remember that the last three launchments about Google versions have been for Jelly Bean (Android 4.1,4.2 and 4.3 which is the latest). It’s expected the future version will include many improvements and innovations after the summer, possibly in October and it will be named Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. But what are the new features included in the new version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean? Here you are some of them:
Applications that are running in background have persistent notifications, so you know what applications are running at any time and which are not. Many users are trying to have the notification bar as clean as possible so we will see if the new utility that Google has included is accepted by users.
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
This new version incorporates Android 4.3 Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) which is able to consume less power than current Bluetooth known while maintaining or improving range and features transfer rates.
It seems there are a few visible changes in the new version 4.3 in terms of the interface while it is true that they have added some new features such as the ability to sort applications in various ways in the main menu (which some manufacturers have offered until now) or also a new contact search method, known as T9 dialer to type in the phone dialer screen the letters of the contact to get it with a faster access. Except some detail as these, the rest of the interface looks very similar to what is already known (Jelly Bean remains).
Restricted user profiles
Android 4.2 was the first Android version where was allowed to create different user profiles in order to share devcies like a tablet. Android 4.3 will allow us to create restricted user profiles. With these Restricted users profiles we will be able to let other users to access in our Android device only those applications which have been given access by us.
OpenGL ES 3.0
Android 4.3 includes the new implementation of OpenGL ES 3.0 that allows the execution of more advanced games in our Android phones and tablets. This new support is obvious since the latter Android devices are including graphics processors capable of using this graphical tool.
Battery is usually one of the most important items that any Android user must have into account when deciding which mobile or tablet fits your needs. The batteries have not had a great evolution and capabilities in last years and actually they are very similar to those that had two or three years ago. Progress in this way has not been significant and therefore we need to focus on reducing battery consumption from the software. Android 4.3 gets it in a remarkable way. Futhermore, the Android device performance will improve a lot with this new version of Android, something very important because Android needs more hardware than other mobile devices to have the same performance but this is obvious if you consider that Android needs to adapt the software to many different hardware from many manufacturers and this is something very difficult. However, a pro of this is that to have many different manufacturers is also an advantage because we can choose between many hardware, something that others can’t make.
So, Android 4.3 gives us simple system improvements but sure it will make very happy more than one. Keep in mind that many of the improvements that are appearing in this new version are fixing minor bugs that we could find in the previous versions of Jelly Bean. It’s also true that there are new features that will be a correction of something that was not good before, adding this new functionality Google is adding something that it was been demanded for many Android users. Now, let’s enjoy this news and await the new version Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
