Sony wants to bring PlayStation games and characters to Android
Surprisingly, Sony announced great news: incoming characters and Playstation games on iOS and Android. The japanese company created a new division that will bring the most famous Playstation franchises to mobile devices.
In a short time you can have fun with games and characters from all the PlayStation Universe for iOS and Android. By surprise, Sony Computer Entertainment, the division of Sony dedicated to the production of entertainment software, has announced the opening of a new development studio. Called ForwardWorks Corporation, and the team will mainly build applications and games for smartphones and tablets, taking advantage of PlayStation intellectual property.
At the moment it is still unclear what will be the first franchise and the characters that will appear on iOS and Android devices but it is reasonable to expect some of the most iconic games so far that only appeared on the PlayStation console, as Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted or God of War.
It should be remembered that it is not the first time that the PlayStation brand intersects with the mobile world: small spin-off as Run Sackboy! Run! and Ratchet & Clank. Before the Nexus were published in the past on iOS and Android, while the release of games like Until Dawn and Beyond: Two Souls has been accompanied by specific apps.
Also we must remember the PlayStation Mobile service, which allowed downloading of certified games on a range of compatible devices including Xperia Play, HTC One and PlayStation Vita. The arrival of PlayStation franchise on iOS and Android follows the similar move that Nintendo has been dedicating to the mobile world: the first app Nintendo Miitomo has already been released in Japan and is expected to come to the rest of the world later this month.
