Chromecast’s Android app available internationally

Chromecast’s Android app is finally available for international users. The limitation that the application had when you tried to download it through Google Play has been finally lifted. This means that the people who had managed to import a Chromecast into their country can finally obtain the accompanying Android app.

Chromecast is not officially sold in the Google Play Store outside United States, but you can now easily obtain one through Amazon, where the option of international shipping is again available (at least is available for some countries!).

In any case, the fact that the application is available internationally can be read as a signal that the official launch is coming.

For all of you who have no idea what Chromecast is, think about his dongle as the solution of your compatibility problems between your phones, tablets and TV. This small device allows you to stream online video and music (among other things) to your TV using you smartphone, tablet or laptop. It’s really easy to install (you just need to plug it into any HDTV and connect it to your home WiFi network) and quick to set up (the app is available on Google Play Store).

It works with Android, iOS and Chrome (both for Mac and Windows). Chromecast supports Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, and Google Play Movies and Music mobile applications. It also supports selected content through Chrome browser.

It’s sold for $35 on the Play Store, and it’s probably the easiest and cheapest way to bring the internet to your TV. Besides, it’s small, compact and nicely designed.

On the back side, there is the fact that for Play Music to continue a stream WiFi has to be on, and it will be in your device. It means that you cannot turn off WiFi or the music will stop.
