New rooting method for the Google Nexus 9, the phablet co-developed by Google and HTC that uses the Android Lollipop operating system.

Google Nexus is a line of smartphones running under the Android OS produced by Google in cooperation with various device manufacturers. The Nexus Android models usually are the first models to receive system updates.

Isa Dick Hackett, daughter of novelist Philip K. Dick, and several bloggers believe the term Nexus is a reference to the Dick novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? in which androids are referred to as Nexus 6 model.

The Google Nexus 9 is a tablet computer which Google has introduced with the Android OS 5.0 Lollipop version on October 15, 2014. It is built by HTC and is the fourth tablet of the Nexus series. The Nexus 9 will be released on November 3, 2014 in the United States. It is the first 64-bit-capable Android device.
